Frequently Asked Questions
The use of electronic communications to provide or receive medical advice and treatment remotely is known as telemedicine or telehealth. Consider it a virtual visit to your doctor’s office where you can receive treatment, diagnosis, advice and more.
Convenience is the most common reason. Telemedicine is great for people on the go and those who are away at college or work out of town. It can be a big timesaver because you don’t have to miss work or school to drive to the office and wait to see the doctor.
The Telehealth app is not designed to replace in-office visits. It is intended to be supplemental and a convenient way to get a diagnosis or medical advice for common issues like rashes, acne and skin lesions.
Telehealth is for established patients of Dr. Storey so our secure system already has your medical history and demographic information. You will be asked a series of questions related your concern. You will also be prompted to take and include photos with your case.
Dr. Storey will respond in 24 hours. Usually faster.
The system is designed for you to submit a new case for each complaint and you will be charged for each case submitted.
Yes and no. Because telehealth visits are not yet covered by insurance, you will be paying the cash price for your visit. The price you pay for telehealth visit is the same amount you would pay if you came to the office and did not have medical insurance.
We are now billing insurance companies and many are paying for telehealth visits. The only way to know for sure is for us to submit your claim to your particular insurance. You will be charged a $25 service fee when you submit your telehealth visit from your smartphone. However, if your insurance company denies the claim you will be responsible for the $150 visit.
Just like any other online transaction, you will submit your credit card information on our secure server.
Any mobile device that is running iOS or Android operating systems. That includes smartphones and tablet platforms. Please note that it is not currently available on your computer.
